For anyone who is excited to grab Beta 2 of Visual Studio 2010 (available
here), there are some simple steps that must be completed before you can install Beta 2. If you had installed Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1, you will need to follow the listed steps in order to successfully uninstall B1 and install B2:
- Uninstall Team Foundation Server Object Model if installed
- Uninstall IronPython if installed
- Uninstall Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1
- If you have .NET 4.0 Beta 1 installed, uninstall that as well (uninstall the Client Profile first)
- You can now install Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 and .NET 4.0 Beta 2
NOTE
If you are currently using SQL Server 2005 on your machine and install VS 2010 B2, it will add an upgrade for SQL Server 2008. Due to this upgrade, SQL Server Management Studio 2005 (Express or Full) will no longer work for your local database administration and you must upgrade to SQL Server Management Studio 2008
here.
NOTE
Aaron Ruckman has made a blog post concerning the installation of VS2010 B2
here for some more information.
